Chocolate Biscotti Smoothee

Hey, there.  Long time, no blog. Between moving three hours away for my husband's new job a year ago, two small children, etc., etc. this blog kinda just fell of my radar.

BUT I would like to be a little more consistent with my posting. My passion for Shaklee and their products has not diminished, and I truly do love to share.  After all, I think my two precious children are here and healthy because of the nutrition received by Shaklee (and obviously, by the grace of God!).

So today I'd like to share a recipe for a Smoothee that I have fallen in love with.

With my fall getting busier, and my half marathon behind me, I have less time to commit to working out.  I'm also spending more time sitting on my tush now that I'm back teaching online.  So that means I need to pay closer attention to what I eat.  The solution? Shaklee 180!

First of all, Shaklee has revamped its weight management system and changed the name from Cinch to Shaklee 180 (in reference to the 180 degree turn you can make in your health!).  What makes it stand out from other shake weight management programs?

Well as with everything Shaklee, absolutely no artificial sweeteners or flavors.  I feel perfectly confident letting my children sample my smoothees (and they love them, too!).

Also, they pack a whopping 24 grams of protein to combat hunger and keep you feeling satisfied.

And the kicker - they contain leucine, an amino acid that allows you to hang on to protein rather than fat, when you're losing weight, which in turn, fuels your metabolism.  (Most calorie-cutting programs cause you to lose muscle, therefore metabolism goes down...not good.)

You can read more about the product here: http://saraandstevegibbs.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku=21246

The flavors?  Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cafe Latte, and new Vanilla Chai!

But let me introduce you to my latest favorite - Chocolate Biscotti. YUM!  I fell in love with the Biscotti Mocha from Caribou Coffee last spring.  All that almondy chocolately goodness.  Seriously.  So I created my own, healthier version.

Here's what you need:
1 cup almond milk (or other type of milk, if you prefer).
A small handful of almonds (omit if you like a smoother texture)
1/2 to 1 tsp almond flavor
2 scoops Chocolate Shaklee 180 Smoothee powder
4-5 ice cubes

I like to use my Magic Bullet, but I suppose any blender would work.
Put everything in there...

And blend!

I don't have a fancy camera or the ability to make everything look super amazing - but trust me - this is some serious creamy tastiness. Enjoy!
