Chocolate Biscotti Smoothee

Hey, there.  Long time, no blog. Between moving three hours away for my husband's new job a year ago, two small children, etc., etc. this blog kinda just fell of my radar.

BUT I would like to be a little more consistent with my posting. My passion for Shaklee and their products has not diminished, and I truly do love to share.  After all, I think my two precious children are here and healthy because of the nutrition received by Shaklee (and obviously, by the grace of God!).

So today I'd like to share a recipe for a Smoothee that I have fallen in love with.

With my fall getting busier, and my half marathon behind me, I have less time to commit to working out.  I'm also spending more time sitting on my tush now that I'm back teaching online.  So that means I need to pay closer attention to what I eat.  The solution? Shaklee 180!

First of all, Shaklee has revamped its weight management system and changed the name from Cinch to Shaklee 180 (in reference to the 180 degree turn you can make in your health!).  What makes it stand out from other shake weight management programs?

Well as with everything Shaklee, absolutely no artificial sweeteners or flavors.  I feel perfectly confident letting my children sample my smoothees (and they love them, too!).

Also, they pack a whopping 24 grams of protein to combat hunger and keep you feeling satisfied.

And the kicker - they contain leucine, an amino acid that allows you to hang on to protein rather than fat, when you're losing weight, which in turn, fuels your metabolism.  (Most calorie-cutting programs cause you to lose muscle, therefore metabolism goes down...not good.)

You can read more about the product here: http://saraandstevegibbs.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku=21246

The flavors?  Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cafe Latte, and new Vanilla Chai!

But let me introduce you to my latest favorite - Chocolate Biscotti. YUM!  I fell in love with the Biscotti Mocha from Caribou Coffee last spring.  All that almondy chocolately goodness.  Seriously.  So I created my own, healthier version.

Here's what you need:
1 cup almond milk (or other type of milk, if you prefer).
A small handful of almonds (omit if you like a smoother texture)
1/2 to 1 tsp almond flavor
2 scoops Chocolate Shaklee 180 Smoothee powder
4-5 ice cubes

I like to use my Magic Bullet, but I suppose any blender would work.
Put everything in there...

And blend!

I don't have a fancy camera or the ability to make everything look super amazing - but trust me - this is some serious creamy tastiness. Enjoy!

The 2011 Shaklee Global Conference

We're back! After spending great few days of conference in Washington, D.C. and a couple more with family, we are back in Minnesota. As a first-time attendee, I was amazed at the incredible and inspirational people involved with Shaklee, the unsurpassable science behind every Shaklee product, and the practical advice and fantastic opportunity to build a successful business. Here are just a few of the highlights from the convention:

1. Vitalizer
In case you're not familiar with these fantastic supplements, Vitalizer is a daily strip that delivers essential nutrition to the places in your body where those vitamins and minerals are needed. Already the best of its kind, the three different Vitalizer formulas have been improved by:
Men - the addition of a triple berry extract for heart health, more lycopene for prostate health, more magnesium for muscle energy
Women - the addition of cranberry extract as an antibiotic, and did you know - you get an SPF of 4 for healthier skin just by taking Vitalizer???
Gold (men and women over 50) - addition of CoQ10!

2. Free Membership
The $19.95 membership fee is now waived if a new member joins by buying Vitalizer! Seriously, great!

3. Member Referral Program
Starting in September, Shaklee members get $25 in Shaklee credit for referring others if they buy at least $25 in products.

4. Fabulous Incentives
As if the opportunity to earn incredible income while helping others isn't enough, Shaklee provides incredible incentives to give you even more motivation to build your own business. The 2012 incentive trip is to the Mayan Riviera, and the Top Achievers Trip is to Kenya. Wow! And don't forget about earning a car, and the bonuses you'll earn by building your business on FastTrack!

I'd love to help you build a business while getting healthier along the way. "Changing brands can change your life!"

Losing Weight the Healthy Way

The start of the new year always has people thinking about their weight loss goals. It may be to get to a healthier weight or it may be just to maintain your current weight. Whatever your goal, Shaklee can help.

Cinch is Shaklee's healthy weight program that helps you avoid the vicious famine-feast diet cycle. Combining two shakes or "meal-in-a-bar"s into your day packs protein and leucine into your diet. Protein helps keep you full and leucine is an amino acid which has even been used by body builders to maintain and build muscle. While restricting calories alone will cause you to lose muscle, the leucine in Cinch helps you maintain your muscle (thus keeping your metabolism up!) and lose the fat. Take a look!

Immune Support

It's that time of year again. The holidays! Great food, great people, and...a great possibility that you will get sick! Some people call it cold season. Doesn't it make more sense to do something to prevent the cold from happening than to deal with it when it comes?!?!?!? SO, find out how you can boost your immune system to help fight off these nasty infections before they ruin your plans this holiday season!

Find out more or order here: Nutriferon - distributor page

By the way - if you join as a Shaklee member with a $70 order in November, the normal $19.95 membership fee is waived!
